The social media platform Twitter has taken some tough blows over the past few weeks.
First, it lost the best animation software company, Turbotax.
And now, it’s been hit with a lawsuit filed by an employee who says she was fired from the company over a disagreement about how much pay her colleagues should be making.
The lawsuit claims that Turbotac was not being paid properly.
But Turbotakt has not been paid for more than a year.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in San Francisco, says that the employees had been promised more than $50,000 per month, but were actually owed $3,500.
The suit seeks unspecified damages and attorneys’ fees.
“The lawsuit has not yet been filed,” a spokeswoman for Turbotacity told ESPN.
“It’s currently being reviewed by a jury.”
We asked Twitter about the lawsuit.
In a statement to ESPN, a spokesperson said that it had “never paid a salary above the minimum wage in any of our prior years.”
“We have a culture of fairness where employees are paid at their current rate based on their performance and the work they have done for our clients,” the spokesperson said.
“We are committed to fostering a work environment that is fair, equitable, and supportive of all our employees.
We are reviewing the lawsuit and will respond as soon as we have more information.”
According to the lawsuit, a Turbotact employee named Samantha Pecoraro was fired last year and was given no severance package.
The employee, who is represented by the firm Law Offices of David F. Cone, says she had been working for TurBotax for about two years.
The complaint alleges that Pecorioaro had complained to her boss that she was not getting the $2,500 per month she was promised.
The court filing says that Percoraro had no choice but to leave TurbotaTax.
The case is not a new one for Twitter.
A year ago, a woman sued Twitter for not paying her employees.
In response, the company paid her a settlement.
